Goodbye Greyhound

 

Yesterday I put up a Greyhound ad on my site "Old Magazine Ads". Today I heard they are shutting down their service in Canada. That ad was 74 years ago.

1943 Old Magazine Ad from Continental Can

 

I thought this was an interesting ad, one I had never seen before, a bomb inside a varnish can, to disable a tank. I've seen cans like this although it had turpentine in it. What strikes me strange why they would broadcast this, not keep this secret. I mean, the enemy can read too, even though it is an American magazine. Then again, the cans were probably buried. Still, an interesting ad.
