This is a Reacher story that one could mistake for a young Jack Reacher although he might appear a bit naïve and immature. The series is an attempt to copy the style of Lee Child but falls short. At times the sentences are short and sharp but for the most part they revert to normal information. Parts of the story are inconsistent, the author forgetting former remarks. Some sentences are just plain silly while others are absurd.
Poor Reacher, he can even get in trouble when he is trying to be a good Samaritan, This is a Reacher novella. A great example of his deductive reasoning.
This book is written close to the style of Lee Child. Jack Reacher, who never appears in the book, is used as a come on to attract his readers. The story is fast paced with an FBI agent who seems unable to control her emotions or her life. With a car or plane she races from scene to scene. Where would the story be without Reacher?
"Blue Moon" is book #24 in the Jack Reacher series. Always willing to help the down trodden, Reacher goes above and beyond to help an old couple being used and abused by loan sharks. I found the center of the book a bit boring, non events happening. It did pick up and Reacher seemed to go over to the dark side, leaving a pile of bodies in his wake. As always, he moves on, but now caries the cloak of a thief and mass murderer.
