Mind Your own Business

Temp. is -2C/28F. After yesterday's snow and rain and wind, outside looks exactly as it did yesterday morning. Winter doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Must be a slow news day or the newspaper doesn't know what news is important. The front page article. A guy is sueing the Casino because to got drunk and lost money. Here's the story. This guy is on some list he shouldn't be allowed to gamble. The casino lets him into the high stakes room and let him buy drinks. So he lost his money and now its the casino's fault. He wants back the money he lost. He went to an addiction clinic and wants that paid for plus travel expenses. He also wants one million dollars for his grief. I think he's been watching too much American TV. Here's the link. You decide if they should throw this guy in jail for being a nuisance. http://thechronicleherald.ca/Front/1230748.html

Here's something. A former member of the N.S. government had his house foreclosed on him. He was caught misusing his funds or something so now he sits as an Independent. Which really doesn't matter, he still gets paid. As far as money is concerned, he is a complete screw up, all the way around. He didn't pay his morgage. The house went up for auction and the Credit Union bought it for $150,000. The house is accessed at $223,900. Of course the assessed value is always less than selling price. So why didn't the morgage lender just take the house? They could have sold it.  http://thechronicleherald.ca/Metro/1230722.html

Another coyote attack. A farmer, out shoveling in front of his barn, got jumped by a coyote. He beat him off and only suffered  ripped jacket and gloves. The farmer called a trapper and time will tell. Maybe we should have a hunting sesason on coyote. http://thechronicleherald.ca/NovaScotia/1230779.html

Charlie Sheen seems to be in the paper every day. I guess he is looking for a raise. What he needs is a good slap in the back of the head.

Oscar watchers down 10%. Guess I'm not the only one who didn't watch it.

The President of the Scotia Bank only got $10.7 Million last year. Sad, isn't it. Not for him, but for us, that we allow such crap. Bank profits were up 16%. But let's face the facts, he had very little to do with it. The people below him make this happen. He may have gotten the job because he is somebody's golf buddy. Most people think he actually works. Is that naive or dumb? Did you ever watch the show "The Boss"? I don't but I have caught a few parts like, "Before I took this job, I knew nothing about running a hotel chain, I was a V.P. in automotive." or something like that. On top of that, he always seems to be the worse employee. If he didn't have a golf buddy, he would be working at McDonalds, if they would hire him.

"U.S. tightens grip around Libya" Now there is a perfect example of not minding your own business. If you are for one side, then you're against the other. One will be a maybe friend, and the other will be an enemy. The enemy will blow up some hotel in New York. Then its, "why us?" Why? Because you didn't mind your own business.

Hey! I have a second follower. Hi Tony.

Attack On the Mini-bar

Ten minutes ago, it was spilling down raining, now it is snowing big time. Don't imagine the snow will last that long. It rained all day yesterday, but not much snow disappeared. I guess it is closer to ice than snow.

The front page today has a photo of a sandwich sigh with the words "Canada Games." It appears you can't do that. Trademarked name etc. Deep down, it just doesn't seem right. The name "Canada Games," belongs to all Canadians. I can see not wanting someone operating a factory making do-dads, but get a grip. Then again, greed will overcome common sense.

Our Lt.Governor, a black woman I should say, wants a holiday for Feb. And it should be for a female, black, civil rights activist. She did mention it definately had to be a woman. Reminds me of medical school.
If you are male, white, anglo, you're screwed, unless your father or uncle is a doctor. Besides that, we don't need a holiday in Feb. Of course this comes from someone who is on holiday everyday.

Saw an ad for Mills. This is an upscale clothing store, where things are not cheap. The ad was for a prom dress, and even looking at it I can tell it is expensive. The point is, I think proms have gone way out of whack. Limos, tux, etc. And for what? To show the world you are qualified to get a job at McDonalds.
Speaking of McDonalds, I do get sick of the Mc this and Mc that.

The hotel mini-bar seems to be on the way out. People want the fridge, but not the small bottles of booze. Not that they have stopped drinking, they just want to put their own beer in there. And can you blame them. When I go to a motel, I don't even touch their bottles of water. I would probably go to the fridge and get one of my own beer.

This guy is pretty funny. And this clip is SOOOOOO true.

Graduation: Falling Off A Cliff

My wife just told me an excuse to go shopping. We need metal inserts for paint rollers. She went on and on about the old ones, why we tossed them, about tarring the driveway, about lending one to someone and so forth and so forth. When she finished, I said,"That is so cute, you worked so hard on that excuse and it was so eloquent and all you had to do was say I'm going shopping."

O.K. I confess. I don't get it. Graduation time. It seems that you have to go to the dance in a limo and a $500.00 dress could be on the cheap side. You've just finished high school and you are now qualified to work at McDonalds and Wal-Mart. Just like falling off a cliff. Hopefully they have cash registers that tell you what change to give back. From what I've seen, read and heard, they think math is something theit parents had in school. Oops! I shouldn't use the word math. It should be arithmetic. But haven't you seen that. Cashiers that can't figure out what change to give back? I always feel sorry for them. Life will be a long road.

I remember my high school prom. My date was 15 years old and I was 17. All the guys made fun of me because she was so young.  I suppose if she had been 16, she would have been and older woman. Well smartasses, she's 65 now and the age difference wouldn't seem to matter that much. I did get better though, my wife is only one year younger than me.
