MY TWITTER ACCOUNTS

I have two Twitter accounts. I call them my Transmitter and my Receiver. On my Transmitter called PensionersRant,  I write all my comments, I follow everyone but very rarely read their comments. On my receiver, I rarely write comments, I follow very few and read most of their comments.

Demise of a Facebook Legend.

I have a lot of relatives & friends who have spent considerable time putting up jokes & cartoons about Trump. Now that he is gone, there is a vacuum to fill, so I am wondering who or what will be their new hobby.

The Rise of Stupidity

There are a lot of stupid people in the world. If you go to restaurants, bars or even Walmart, you can't help but overhear conversations. They seem to be louder so that their opinion is heard. Years ago, people would not stand out in front of the supermarket voicing their opinions for everyone to hear. Now we have Social Media Platforms and they amplify stupidity. Any thought that comes to mind is immediately broadcast. There is no delay to think about it. Years ago, their circle of listeners was small so the effect was minimal. Now the remarks are ranging far and wide, to every naive mind and those with a limited capacity to understand facts. They put forward their absurd ideas and find willing followers among the sheep.
I read this morning about BLM in Denmark. They want white supporters to stand at the back of the groups. A kick in the face to stupid people. In another article a woman complained about the Webster Dictionary and their explanation of racism. She wanted it change to show that it was just whites suppressing blacks. So, it is to be altered.
Personally, I'm sick and tired of all this crap.
On the light side, yesterday I was eating a bagel with cream cheese. It slipped from my hand and fell unto a mat. Against all odds, it fell right side up.

Emotions

Some people are too ready to let everyone know their emotions. Just because you feel strong about something, doesn't mean you have to tell the whole world. Sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut.

In All the Right Places

A sunny Canada Day to you all.

Looking at the paper this morning, I don't think it was my bifocals, I think it was my thought process. When I read, "Onlooker Grabs French Leader," a different picture passed through my mind, than someone grabbing him by the arm.

Saw a movie the other day with Ellen Page. Crap movie about super heroes. She let it be known, she is no stranger to the F word. I didn't think she had a limited vocabulary, or was hard up for parts. Is she too short? The one on NCIS is short and she won an Oscar. Of course, she did play a man.

I guess there was something on Twitter about getting rid of the camma. It wasn't true, though some people want to get rid of it. Those would be the ones, who don't know where to put it, the comma I mean. Anyway, it's a stupid idea. Without it, you don't know what you're readng.

This morning I had raisin bread toast. I had to slice it myself and do you know how that is done? You don't slice it from the top. You lay it on its side and slice. That way, the slices have the same thickness, unless you can't handle a bread knife, in which case there is no help for you. Which is par for the course, since there is no hope for any of us.

Oh My Deer!

I can't believe it's sunny today. They are threatning us with 20C/69F.

The big news for us on Twitter is about a deer who jumped through a window, into a restaurant, then out through another window. That was in Halifax. People hid in the bathrooms until the deer left. I think here in Dartmouth the little dears just walk through the door. I also heard of a bear wandering around. It appears he is attracted to unclean barbacues.

So we are back on this again. the size of city council is too large. We have 23 councillors, while cities of the same size in the rest of Canada have 15 - 17. It's goes up for review every eight years, and today's the day. The last time the councillors voted on it, they voted to keep it the same. Duh! The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board are voting on it today. Think they will fire any of their friends? I don't think there will be any volunteers.

From yesterday's post.- Kurt Arseneault I read of very few home invasions while in Texas...... Wonder if it has anything to do with the odds being pretty high that someone inside the house will have a handgun to protect themselves with? Legally!
Jack Sakalauskas That is true. Same for sports riots. I heard that sports riots happen in Canada and Europe, but not the U.S. The U.S. is the only country where shop owners have guns to protect their property.

The Nova Scotia Walk Of Fame.

Saw this headline last week. "Latest hurricane to touch down in Halifax." OMG I thought. Well I didn't really think OMG, I thought."Oh My God." I suppose you are Twitter savvy enough to know that. So Hurricane Igor is headed this way. I thought for sure it was way out to sea. So now I will have to batten the hatches and hunker down. Which brings up an old Air Force saying. "Haste Makes Waste." I wasted my time because I rushed over the headline and didn't read at least some of the article. Being better late than never, it turned out that the article was about a football team blowing into town to play one of our University teams. Without Igor, our team was still blown away. May you rest in peace Igor.

I've heard lately about "Walk of Fame." How about a Nova Scotia Walk of Fame?  I think the first inductee should be the Pit Pony. He was a famous star, probably no longer with us. They could make an impression of  pony shoes. Then there could be an outline of a heart and on the other side the hand prints of Ellen Page. They were in the same series together. Not to take anything from Ellen Page. I know she deserves a spot all her own, but I don't think she would mind sharing it with the pony. They would have the first spot, ahead of
Anne Murry. Then I thought about others. Dutchie Mason came to mind. He used to rent across the street from me and that made me wonder how long it took to repair the holes in the walls after he left? And then there are the Trailer Park Boys. For them, instead of hand prints, I would like to see mouth impressions in the cement. That way, every time the cement had to be washed, you could wash their mouths out with soap.

Darn That Twitter

April 26, 2010

It’s almost a month since I put something on this Blog. And I’m putting all the blame on Twitter. I put something on there every day because it is easier to make a fast blurb.

We had two weeks of good weather and then it rained for two weeks. My wife cleaned out the basement. This year, it was more cleaning out than moving around. Took all the old electronics to the recycling place. Have to find out if they take old vcr tapes. I think they do and I sure have a bundle. Looked like a good idea at the time. Now I can put 12 movies on a small memory stick.

Got two working lawn mowers and I have cut the lawn once. We are not allowed to use Weed n’ Feed here, so everyone has a dandelion problem. Got some stuff the other day that you mix with water. See how that works.

My neighbour gave me her woodpile. She has never used any since I cut down her trees and piled it for her. Not all was still good. Split what was needed, packed it away and will use it this winter. Think I have about five years of firewood packed around the yard.

Put in three fence posts the other day. There are a few every spring. Best time to do it. Ground is wet. Pull out one and stick the new one in. Have to get the chain saw out and cut them down to the same size. Might do that today.

Rain And A Roast Beef Sandwich

06:30 pm.
Yes, rain all day and I had a roast beef sandwich for diner. I said in my Twitter that it was better than snow and a bologna sandwich. PensionersRant happens to be the Twitter.

So I have an order in for new glasses and now I wait for Wall-Mart to call me. I found out that my last glasses were on 24 Mar. 2004. New ones almost to the day. Time passes fast.

Tried out my lawn mower the next day to make sure it worked. It didn't. Wasn't getting any gas when I pushed the primer button. Not much can go wrong there. When I put in a new gasket, I never put on any sealant. Did that and al is well.

I spent yesterday afternoon splitting all that wood I got from the neighbour. My reward for that is a sore arm. There are still a few pieces of wood around to be cut but I have to sharpen the chainsaw first.

As I have said, it's been raining all day. Same for tomorrow. Can't do anything outside but that's ok. Sore arm and all.

New Eyeglasses Day

08:15 am.

Remember what I said about bad juju? I had taped Trauma and was watching it last night. And the medic told his asst. that you have to put everything in the right place. You have to have the same routine every day or you will have bad juju. I told you this is always happening to me. Imagine something and there it is on t.v. For now its shave and do the walk. Then its a tryout for new glasses. Which I will do first. I know my wife will have other places of wonderment to go to.

Here's my Bio on twitter
Neither famous or infamous.
Chairman of nothing.
Not a movie star, rock star or even a reality star.
Perhaps a falling star.
