Some of One

This morning I asked my wife if she bought bread yesterday and she said "some". I asked her how many was that and she said "one|". So my question is, can one be some? 

I've thought about it and found where this is true. You can say, " I bought one car and it is some car". 

Voting

Voting is our way of deciding who will fleece us rather than have it done randomly or by family inheritance.

Hamer's Quest - Jack Walker

Hamer's Quest is a book of fiction, a total fabrication bordering on the absurd. I wanted a western, something different from my usual reads but was disappointed by my choice. The pages are filled with name dropping of famous people, products and books, all to fill in pages. In a western one expects the usual fare of gunplay but this has been replaced by explanations of faith from old time religion, running on for pages and pages. Silly conversations make up another large part of the book. I am giving it three stars because it might be suitable as a screenplay.

You would think that with 36 million people we would find at least one intelligent person to vote for in the next election.

 

West to Bravo: A Western Novel - Eric H. Heisner

 

I was looking for a change from my usual reading
but found this was not my style of writing. It would
make a decent movie.

Fair Warning (Jack McEvoy #3) - Michael Connelly

 

A crime story that has us believing that and old reporter is a seasoned member
of the information highway. The book has great flow and holds us from beginning
to end. It leaves us with the belief that there are more stories to come.

 

One thing we are guaranteed about the N.S. election, a lot of losers will be winners.

 

I just saw a TV ad where you can get a pillow consultation.

U.S at the OLYMPICS

 

The American athletes seem to want to quit while they are behind rather than lose. I guess they can then say they never lost. They also never played, which puts them on the same level as the rest of us, not the heroes the media wants us to believe. 

Now this is interesting.

Death in Zanzibar

 

A novel of young love and murder written before the time of political correctness. With this group of misfits, this book could be an ad for any type of alcoholic drink. We are teased by the naïve love of our teen age heroine, which turns out to be a red herring. She eventually falls for the other young man, who seems to face the possibility of becoming an alcoholic. 

 

Darn crows outside my window at 5 am this morning.

 

My wife is complaining about the potatoes looking old & wrinkled. I said, "Yeah, just like us."

KIJIJI Sales

Last month, my neighbour across the street threw out 2 chain saws. I went over and grabbed them. They were really junk. One didn't even have a blade. I thought I could sell them on Kijiji. My wife laughed at me. Anyway, I put them up for $5.00. 

A few days later I received an email from a guy who said that he couldn't come into the city because of the lockdown but if I would hold them for two weeks he would give me $40.00. I told him I would hold them but $20.00 was enough. He wrote back, no way, nothing less than $30.00. OK, I held them. First time I've been beat up instead of down. 

He came by a couple of weeks later with the $30.00. Told me that collecting this brand of chainsaw was his hobby. He had about 30 of them. Said he loved to take them apart and put them together again. 

Guess I did a few good deeds. Made a collector happy, kept stuff out of the landfill and got $30.00. My wife was still laughing but now she was also shaking her head. 

I remember when we used to use catalogues for toilet paper. What was your favorite, Sears or Eaton's?. 

The world started falling apart when they allowed graffiti to mar the urban landscape.

When I was young and heard a new song, I could understand the words. Nowadays I can't. On second thought, maybe that's a good thing.

 

Thoughts come & go and there is nothing you can do about them.

 

When I had heart surgery I lost weight and that weight is staying lost.
